Life coaching is a process in which a coach helps individuals to identify goals, overcome obstacles, and make positive changes. Executive coaching explores the individual in the context of work teams and work relationships in an organizational context, to help the individual become more effective as leaders. My practice offers both life coaching for individuals and executive coaching for leaders and teams.
Based on the foundational principles of Carl Jung, this approach helps you look inward to know yourself more thoroughly, as we explore the difficulties and challenges in your outer world. This approach also uses active imagination, symbology, and dream interpretation, when appropriate, to help you uncover what is blocking you from fully directing your creative energy.
In a life coaching session, you can expect to discuss your goals, challenges, and strategies for overcoming obstacles. Your coach will provide guidance, support, and accountability to help you achieve your goals.
The length of a life coaching program depends on the individual and their goals. Some programs may last a few months, while others may last a year or more. In my practice, I have found that coaching is most effective when there is mutual effort and commitment for a sustained amount of time. I take on clients for 3, 6, and 12 month increments.
Generally, we schedule our sessions to be about two weeks apart. Meeting once every two weeks gives us the continuity and the space for the client to process the insights that surface during our sessions and in the assigned homework between sessions.
